The apartment is one of eight in a small, well-maintained multi-family building. Westerholt is surrounded by greenery, meaning it offers a wide range of leisure and sporting activities. Nearby there is a conservation area, a tennis club with restaurant, the Erzbahn cycle path, the Schloss Westerholt moated palace and the charming ‘Alte Dorf’ (‘Old Village’) with its restaurants and shops etc. Feeder roads take you to the A43 motorway, which is about 1.5km away.
The apartment comes with a large room in the building’s cellar, which would also be ideal for safely storing your bicycle. Non-smoking property.
The rent already includes service charges and heating costs. Electricity costs must be paid separately. If required, a cleaning service can also be arranged.

The bedroom is furnished with an extremely comfortable double bed (2m x 2m, with extra-large bedding), which can be split into two single beds if required. There is also a spacious wardrobe and a second TV. The property also has a well-lit shower room with heated towel rail and storage cupboards. You also have use of a spacious laundry cellar, where you will find a washing machine for your own use, along with plenty of space for drying.

Lage

Today, the historical centre of Herten’s Westerholt district is characterised by Schloss Westerholt (Westerholt Palace) and adjoining it, what used to be the settlement ‘Freiheit Westerholt’, which comprises about 60 well-preserved half-timbered buildings – the ‘Altes Dorf’ (’Old Village’). Its landscape is also significantly characterised by elements built outside the original settlement upon the arrival of coal mining in 1907. Not just the Zeche Westerholt colliery structures, its railway systems and office buildings, but also the surrounding housing developments for the miners and their families (‘Kolonie’) and the other commercial and residential buildings constructed by local businesspeople and tradespeople for the large influx of miners (‘Heide’). Finally, in the 1960s and 1970s, residential developments comprising houses and apartments were built around the centre of Westerholt, on what had previously been agricultural land (‘Ebbelich’, ‘Sickelmannskamp’, ‘Hof Eilinghaus’).
